A little about the girl behind the blog…
I was born in Columbia, South Carolina, but grew up in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in community journalism at the University of Alabama, where I completed my bachelor’s degree in journalism and English last year. Some of my most fulfilling experiences have come from interviewing passionate and fascinating people, who, for whatever reason, allow me to put their story into words and onto paper. Their stories of courage, ingenuity, perseverance, and passion are what inspire me to be a writer.
I love mercury glass, vintage mirrors, old books, pretty stationery, and the colors blue, green, and gold in no particular order, and not necessarily together. I’m a coffee shop lover who doesn’t actually love coffee. I’m a supporter of white lace comforters and having too many pillows. I like the feeling of being in a place I’ve never been almost as much as the feeling of having been there before.
Despite what people say about millennials, I’m not ashamed for believing in myself or for having dreams of being extraordinary. They say that life is what you make it, and I plan on making mine pretty wonderful.
I’m sure that I will one day look back at the posts on this blog and laugh at how little I knew when I was a twenty-something who was afraid to admit that she knew so little. I’m okay with that though because it means I will have learned so much.
